Uh oh, watch out! The big dog just walked through the doors, and its name is Apple Music

A couple of months ago we wrote about the newest music streaming company –Tidal. This service was purchased and re-launched by one of the biggest and most well-known power houses in the entertainment industry–Jay –Z. Needless to say, we were thrilled! On a daily basis we are constantly streaming music from Tidal in the store. Why you ask? Well, hands down it offers the best bit rate and a lossless compression for the true audiophile. It’s the best sound for the best equipment. However, we have a few thoughts on Apple nonetheless.

So, how does Apple Music compare to everyone else?

  • Their sound quality is comparable to what you get when you buy music from iTunes – not bad for a morning run or jamming out in a car. Tidal still takes the cake on sound quality for their $20.00 per month service.
  • Complete iOs integration is flawless and a huge plus here. No one else has this down yet. If you don’t have an iPhone, have no fear; an Android version is on its way. If you do have an iPhone, it came preinstalled with your newest update. You might as well try the 3 month free trial, but you should know that to activate the trial, you have to give them your credit card info, and you’ll be automatically billed ($9.99 per month for an individual, $14.99 for a family) at the end of the trial.
  • Beats1 – Is pretty incredible in our opinion. It is a 24-hour radio service provided as part of Apple Music, with a live and rotating cast of DJs. At first listen we were met with a beautiful mash up of classic rock, hip-hop, indie, and other modern music. If you are a music fan, it is a must try.

Got questions? Ask us. As always, come see us in the store! We love to talk music and invite you to listen to your favorite tunes in our audio room. You can chat us up on our Facebook page.
