Four years after setting the measure for amplifier excellence, the Relentless Mono Amplifier has undergone an upgrade – the Epic. Combining new circuit sections and components, the Relentless Epic 1600 Amplifier resets the standard in power amplifier performance. The Relentless Epic 1600 Mono Amplifier is a true balanced design but unlike conventional bridged amplifiers, the Relentless Epic 1600 Mono Amplifier uses a single front end topology, based on current mirror circuitry to derive the symmetrical plus and minus rails. Typical bridged amplifier designs use two front end circuits making it virtually impossible to achieve perfect symmetry, and thus not balanced, between the plus and minus rail. In the Relentless Epic 1600 Mono Amplifier, distortion artifacts that appear on one half of the signal will also appear on the other half and thus cancel each other.  This unique single front end circuit configuration allows for the awesome power output of the Relentless Epic 1600 Mono Amplifier with strikingly low distortion. New input stage devices deliver a 300% increase in current as compared to the previous devices. These wider bandwidth, higher power components extend low and high frequency performance. The Relentless Epic 1600 Mono Amplifier does not employ any global negative feedback which makes their distortion figures truly impressive. The amplifier’s open-loop linearity eliminates the need for this performance-robbing technique. Gain circuits operate in the current domain, assuring the Relentless Mono Amplifier performance does not fluctuate regardless of the demand.
